Zurkhaneh (House of Strength)

This work, titled Zurkhaneh, draws on the rituals and architecture of Iranian zurkhanehs. It shows a figure, seemingly fixed and unchangeable, striving within a symbolic, traditional space to transform the existing order. Through the interplay of Iranian zurkhaneh architecture, ornamental motifs and the figure’s posture, the piece reflects the tension between collective discipline and the individual’s urge for liberation.
